Artgermination Challenge: BRONZE WONDER by Shadaan Artgermination Challenge: BRONZE WONDER by Shadaan
This is my competition Entry for the "Culture Switch" Themed Art Challenge on Artgermination .

I picked wonder woman and decided to depict her as I'd imagine her if she had been born within the context of a brazillian background.

Back Story

I imagine her raised in the mythos of Amazonian brazil on an Island somewhere. She'd be raised by Ci (or is it Tupian?) The mother Goddess as a jungle born Encantado, (the brazillian version of immortal?) I could be wrong here. She'd live a protected life with other Encantado that flee to the jungle to avoid facing the deaths of loved ones. The Goddess Ci would keep them in a semi perpetual paradise.

Anyway I see her as a protector of the Jungle with power drawn directly from the trees, air and water around her. in other words powered up by nature. She would be called Bronze Wonder for her armour and skintone.

I hope I imagined her right. The rope is a trademak of Wonder woman but I threw in gemstones set in her belt that "store" the natural essence of the jungle allowing her to activate her strength when in the city for a set duration of time.

The colours correlate with the Brazillian flag I tried to use carnival costumes for inspiration and introduced minor changes to her design.

It took me a week to work out the idea and get to this point working most evenings.
Was plenty fun and I used a few Tutorials from Artgermination to help me out.

I encourage you to give it a look

EDIT: Fixed her colouring and the foreshortening on her left arm.

don't really like her as a character (think that she's overrated even), but I like the different colors on this! :)

Stunning, I love not only the concept but the art as well. Her skin coloring is amazing as is her outfit and the entire picture, she looks fantastic like a real bronze wonder would :D

I'm defiantly a fan of this :D

Very cool and a very clever adaptation :) Sounds like a fun "Cultural Switch" overall. Looks great indeed... you mentioned you're still doing touch-ups, so I won't offer this as a critique or a suggestion, but merely as a question. I know her lasso is Wonder Woman's thing, but since you're going with a South American theme, would her having a set of bolas fit your idea better?

Good luck and great job!!

You know I had thought about Bolas but chickened out . The rope has some truth powers or something? Well truth bolas didn't sound so hot but thank you so much for commenting. Really happy to hear from you.

yah, the Magic Lasso could compel to tell the truth. Bolas would do the same thing, but yah I hear ya... the name probably would sound better in Spanish anyway :D Regardless, it's very cool stuff and thanks for sharing with us :)
Very nice
Dood, this is so sweet. I like how you got her hair, it looks exactly like my friend's hair.Is her color scheme based on the brazilian flag or anything?

Just a comment, I don't think the green light under her arm is necessary, it's a little bit harsh next to the darkest part of her arm, but the green light reflected on her legs is perfect!
